ADVANCE DAVIESS COUNTY COALITION

Although priorities may shift, the collective commitment we have in common is building an infrastructure that provides new opportunities and prosperity for our future.

The Advance Daviess County Coalition, under the leadership of the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation, is a group of committed leaders from the city, county, business community, public safety and transportation, who want to move the community forward and seek out new opportunities for growth and development. We have identified three pillars for long-term economic recovery:

​Nathan Gabhart is the CEO and Founder of Truescripts, a prescription company that provides prescription drug coverage to self-insured employers across the nation. Gabhart currently serves in his second term as a Daviess County Commissioner, where he leads as the President of the Board of Commissioners. Leading his community, Nathan has served as President of both the Pharmacy Associations in the state of Indiana and has assisted in drafting a number of bills in pharmacy legislation. In addition, Gabhart is on the Executive Committee of the Indiana Association for County Commissioners, where he formerly served as President. Nathan and his family have taken an effective role in their community through staying active and embracing philanthropic opportunities.
“I think Daviess County is self-sufficient. I think we’ve always had a reputation of having our hand out and that we can take care of our own problems here in Daviess County. It’s that blue-collar, hard work ethic that has made Daviess County successful. Daviess County, we are driven to be the best.”

​​Joe Morris is the Executive Director of the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau. As a current Board of Directors Member for the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation, Heartbeat of Washington, Daviess Revolving Loan Corporation, as well as on the Daviess County Advisory Board for Junior Achievement of Southwestern Indiana, Morris has contributed to the advancement of his community. Along with his involvement, Joe has completed 28 years of marketing, strategic planning, and business development experience in the private sector and non-profit industry. The father of three student-athletes, Morris continues his passion for athletics as the Head Football Coach at Washington High School. Born and raised in Daviess County, Joe believes it is a great place to live and raise a family, showcasing its rich tradition of diversity, strong work ethic, and community.

J. Michael Healy

Councilman for the Town of Montgomery

Mike Healy is the current Councilman for the Town of Montgomery and President of the Town Board of Montgomery. Recently retired from Chief Financial Officer of Jones & Sons Concreate and Masonry Products, Healy now serves as the Bookkeeper for the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation. Along with being a Daviess County Economic Development Corporation Board Member, Mike serves as Chairman of the Board of Southern Indiana Development Commission. Healy is also an involved member of the Knights of Columbus, the County Redevelopment Commission, and serves as the Finance Chairman for St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Montgomery. Married for 39 years with four children and six grandchildren, Healy has raised his family in Daviess County.

Bryant
​Niehoff

Executive Director of the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation

Bryant Niehoff currently serves as Executive Director of the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation in Southwestern Indiana. In this role, Bryant is responsible for overseeing all business attraction, retention, and expansion activities in Daviess County as well as partnering with community leaders and organizations on community development, quality of life, and workforce development initiatives. Originally a native of Rush County, Bryant graduated from Ball State University in May of 2016 with his bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning and Development and with a minor in Real Estate Development.   Prior to his current position, Bryant spent several years working in the public sector serving as Director of the City of Shelbyville Planning and Building Department and Planning Director for the City of Rushville and Rush County.  Bryant and his wife Sara moved to Daviess County in December of 2018, and they welcomed their daughter, Rowan Barbara, to the world in August of 2019.  Bryant and his family are members of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church, where he serves on the Parish Council.

Mayor Dave Rhoads

Mayor of the City of Washington

Dave Rhoads is the current Mayor of the City of Washington and has served the City of Washington for 29 years. Before his office of Mayor, Rhoads worked for the Fire Department for over 28 years, 13 of which serving as the Fire Chief. Over the course of his career, Rhoads has worked for three mayors and administrations, striving to make a difference in the community he was brought up in. Involved in various facets of his community, Dave has been a Knights of Columbus member for over 40 years, a member of the Fraternal Order of the Police, Indiana Fire Chief’s Association and the International Fire Chief’s Association. In addition, Rhoads is a Board Member of the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation, the RSVP Volunteer Center, the Daviess County Community Corrections, as well as a lifelong member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church. As Mayor, Rhoads is committed to keeping the Daviess County community advancing forward for the future of his children and grandchildren, and all future residents of Daviess County. 
“Every job I’ve ever had, I have worked with the citizens of Washington. Being a lifelong resident here, I want to make sure that we keep moving forward. There is much potential for growth here in this community."

​Stowers

Financial Center Manager of German American Bank

David Stowers is the Financial Center Manager for German American Bank in Washington, Indiana. Involved as the Treasurer of the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Bureau, a member of the Daviess Community Hospital Foundation Board, and a member of the PACE Board, Stowers has been able to make an immense impact on the Daviess County community. Recently finishing up his term as President, David is also an active member of the Washington Rotary Club. Graduates of Purdue University, Stowers and his wife have raised their three children in Daviess County, where they consider home. With years of experience in the financial sector, David is passionate about the growth and business development within Daviess County and strives to assist Daviess County in this process as a member of the Advance Daviess County Coalition. 
“Daviess County is home. I feel like Daviess County is so well positioned to do so many great things and to grow in the face of where many other communities our size are struggling. We have been given this opportunity with the Mid-States Corridor that we must pursue. We cannot be scared of growth.”

Swartzentruber Brown & Regional Title Service

Grant Swartzentruber is an Attorney at Swartzentruber Brown Attorneys at Law and Regional Title Services.  Swartzentruber has served as a County Attorney for 10 years and is licensed to practice in the states of Indiana and Ohio. In his community, Grant has been involved with Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church Parish Council as President, United Way, and many other non-profit organizations. In addition to an Advance Daviess County Coalition Member, Swartzentruber has impacted his community as a member of the Indiana Leadership Forum, where he dedicated his role to the education arm of the Republican party. Grant has been involved in various political campaigns and ran a successful state-wide campaign in 2013-2014 as Campaign Manager for State Senator, Eric Bassler. Swartzentruber and his wife are raising their six young children in their home of Daviess County, and see great opportunity for advancing the future of Daviess County.

Tony Graber is the President of Graber Construction, a family run business that has been
servicing the material handling industries since 1969, and Graber Crane, which has served the
crane and rigging needs of Indiana, Illinois, and Kentucky since 1975. Involved as a member of
the Daviess County Economic Development Corporation Board for ten years, Tony currently
serves as Chairman of the Board. Prior to his position with the DCEDC, Graber has contributed
to his community as a member of the Daviess County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors
Bureau Board. Graber takes pride in raising his three kids in Daviess County along with his wife,
Mikki, another successful Daviess County business owner.

Tyson J.
​Wagler

Tyson J. Wagler is a partner at Frette & Wagler LLC. The Certified Public Accounting firm offers a wide range of tax and accounting services for individuals and all types of businesses. Wagler is a 1998 graduate of Barr-Reeve High School. After high school he graduated from Vincennes University in 2000 and University of Southern Indiana, Evansville, IN in 2003 to receive a degree in accounting.  Wagler currently sits on the board for the German American Bancorp, Daviess Community Hospital Board of Governors, Nasco Industries Board of Directors and serves as the Treasurer for the Barr-Reeve Foundation. Wagler and his wife Lauren, are currently raising their two children in Montgomery, Indiana.
